4 Axis Gantry Boring Mill
Product Description
Large workpieces need more than a big machine-they need enough travel, rigidity, and working space to make large-part machining practical. This 4 axis gantry boring mill is designed for exactly that kind of production. With X, Y, Z, and W-axis movement, it can handle boring, milling, drilling, and other machining operations on oversized metal components while keeping setup work under control.
The JGM series covers six configurations, from the JGM2560T and JGM3080T to the larger JGM60160D. The available X-axis travel ranges from 6,500 to 16,500 mm, while Y-axis travel reaches up to 7,800 mm. Optional worktables are available from 2,500 × 6,000 mm to 6,000 × 16,000 mm, with table load capacity up to 25 t/m². This makes the machine a practical choice for heavy machinery, energy equipment, shipbuilding, mining equipment, steel structures, molds, and other large components.
Product Features
Four-Axis Machining for Large Workpieces
The machine uses X, Y, Z, and W-axis movement to position the cutting tool across a large machining area. The long X-axis travel allows the worktable to move through the gantry, while the Y-axis controls cross movement. Z and W-axis movements provide additional vertical positioning for different machining depths and workpiece areas.
This 4 axis gantry boring mill is particularly useful when the workpiece is too large or heavy to move repeatedly between different machines.
Large Machining Envelope
Depending on the model, X-axis travel ranges from 6,500 mm to 16,500 mm, and Y-axis travel ranges from 4,300 mm to 7,800 mm. The effective gantry width reaches 7,500 mm on the JGM60160D.
The spindle-end-to-table distance can also be configured for different machining requirements. This gives manufacturers more freedom when working with tall structures, large castings, and deep machining areas.
Heavy-Duty Spindle System
The JGM2560T, JGM3080T, JGM40100L, and JGM50120 series use a 500 × 500 mm ram cross-section, while the JGM50120D and JGM60160D models use a larger 600 × 600 mm section.
Spindle speed is available from 10 to 2,000 rpm. Main motor power reaches 58 kW on the smaller configurations and 81 kW on the larger models, with maximum spindle torque up to 10,000 Nm. This gives the machine enough cutting power for demanding boring and milling operations.
Rigid Construction and Material Selection
The gantry, worktable, ram, and other major structural components are designed for heavy-duty machining and long-term industrial use. Rigid structural materials and precision-machined guide surfaces help maintain stability when machining large components.
Material grades and structural specifications can be confirmed according to the final machine configuration. For projects with specific requirements for castings, guideways, or other components, the machine can be discussed and configured before production.
Flexible Guideway and CNC Options
Different guideway configurations are available. The series can use linear guideways, with optional hardened rails on the Z-axis, while selected larger models use hydrostatic guideways with optional hardened Z-axis rails.
The CNC system supports FANUC 0i and SIEMENS 828D, with FANUC 31i and SIEMENS ONE available as optional upgrades. Vertical, universal, extended, flat-face, and other customized milling heads can also be supplied.
