4 Axis Gantry Milling and Boring Machine
Product Description
When you are machining long, wide, and heavy components, machine size and stability become just as important as cutting power. This 4 axis gantry milling and boring machine is designed for large-part machining where a conventional CNC machining center simply does not offer enough working space. With X, Y, Z, and W-axis movement, the machine can handle milling, boring, drilling, and other operations across large workpieces while keeping the machining process stable and repeatable.
The JGM series includes six configurations, from JGM2560T and JGM3080T to JGM50120L, JGM50120D, and JGM60160D. The available X-axis travel reaches 16,500 mm, while the working surface can reach 6,000 × 16,000 mm. Depending on the model, the machine can support a maximum load of 15 or 25 t/m². This makes it a practical solution for heavy machinery, steel structures, energy equipment, transportation equipment, shipbuilding components, and other oversized metal parts.
Product Features
Large Gantry Working Area
The main advantage of this 4 axis gantry milling and boring machine is the large machining envelope. X-axis travel ranges from 6,500 to 16,500 mm, while Y-axis travel reaches up to 7,800 mm. Z-axis travel is available up to 2,500 mm, and selected models provide W-axis travel of up to 3,000 mm.
The effective gantry width ranges from 4,000 to 7,500 mm, giving operators plenty of room for large workpieces and fixtures.
Heavy-Duty Spindle
Different models are equipped with 500 × 500 mm or 600 × 600 mm ram sections. Spindle speeds reach 2,000 rpm, while main motor power is available at 58 kW or 81 kW. The maximum spindle torque reaches 10,000 Nm on the larger JGM50120D and JGM60160D configurations.
This combination gives the machine enough cutting capacity for demanding milling and boring applications without relying on extremely high spindle speeds.
Rigid Structural Design
For large-part machining, rigidity matters. The gantry, crossbeam, ram, and machining assemblies are designed as a heavy-duty structure to provide stable support during cutting. The machine structure can be configured according to the required working size and load.
Material grades and specific structural construction can be confirmed with the final machine configuration, allowing the equipment to be matched to the customer's machining requirements and production environment.
Flexible Guideway and CNC Options
Different guideway configurations are available, including linear guideways with movable Y-axis structures and static guideway arrangements. CNC control can be configured with FANUC 0i, SIEMENS 828D, FANUC 31i, or SIEMENS ONE, depending on the model and application.
For tooling, the standard capacity is 40 tools, with optional 60, 80, or 100-tool configurations.
