Product Introduction

Product Details

All major cast-iron components of the GMF 33R-including the base, columns, and spindle head-undergo rigorous stress-relief treatment involving two rounds of tempering prior to machining. Furthermore, the structural framework has been validated using Finite Element Analysis (FEA), ensuring an optimized design for load distribution across all cross-sections. This combination ensures that the machine maintains minimal deformation, even under its own substantial weight and the complex forces encountered during machining.

Product Details

The X and Y axes are equipped with dual rows of size 55 heavy-duty linear roller guideways. The line contact between the rollers and the rails offers superior durability compared to traditional ball-type guideways, effectively handling off-center loads during machining.

The Z-axis features a fully enclosed 420×420mm box-type ram. This box structure outperforms standard rectangular rams in torsional and bending rigidity, minimizing vibration when machining hard materials or performing heavy-duty cutting.

The spindle drive system prioritizes performance over cost-cutting, utilizing a powerful 22kW motor coupled with a BF gearbox. This configuration enables high torque output even at low speeds (starting at 20 rpm), preventing the tool from stalling or getting bogged down during demanding operations on extremely hard materials.

Product Advantages

The GMF 33R gantry machining center excels at handling large workpieces while maintaining exceptional precision.

First, the 3.3-meter gantry span allows it to easily accommodate wide workpieces.

Second, even with an X-axis travel exceeding 8 meters, positioning accuracy remains within 0.035mm under heavy loads. This provides a generous margin for subsequent finishing operations, eliminating the need for frequent manual measurement and alignment. Furthermore, despite its heavy-duty design, the Y-axis rapid traverse speed of 15 m/min ensures that non-cutting movements do not feel sluggish, resulting in an acceptable overall machining pace.

Product Applications

This GMF 33R gantry machining center is well-suited for processing large, high-strength structural components, such as automotive body panels, excavator buckets and booms for construction machinery, wind turbine bases and hubs, as well as marine propellers and steering gear assemblies.

Equipped with accessory interfaces, the machine can accommodate right-angle milling heads and extension heads; this allows for the complete machining of five faces of complex box-type components in a single setup, thereby eliminating the inconvenience and potential errors associated with repeated workpiece repositioning.

FAQ

Q: How long does installation and commissioning take after the machine arrives?

A: We provide remote installation guidance. Once the foundation is prepared according to our drawings, your electricians can work with us via video link; positioning, leveling, and power-on testing typically take 7 to 10 days to complete.

Q: How do we learn to operate the machine without an on-site engineer?

A: We provide bilingual (Chinese/English) manuals and fault code lists with the shipment. After power-up, our after-sales team offers hands-on remote training via video or desktop sharing (covering system interfaces, tool offset settings, and routine maintenance). Personnel with basic electrical experience can usually master the operation within 1–2 days.

Q: How does your pricing compare to used European or Japanese gantry machines?

A: For equivalent specifications, our new machine is priced at approximately 40% of a brand-new European or Japanese model. Compared to used equipment, we offer a 10-year guarantee on original spare parts and a full-machine warranty, resulting in lower long-term total costs and eliminating the risk of discontinued support.
