Moving Column Gantry Machining Center
Product Details
This machine offers an X-axis travel of 8.5 meters, Y-axis of 5.2 meters, Z-axis of 1.2 meters, and W-axis (crossbeam elevation) of 2 meters. The spindle is BT50, running at 4,000 RPM with a peak torque of 1860 N·m. The core of its design lies in its transmission and structural layout: The X and Y axes use high-precision ball screws with planetary gear reducers; the Z-axis features a nitrogen balance cylinder to counter the ram's dead weight; the W-axis uses dual ball screws with high-inertia servo motors, providing outstanding resistance to eccentric loads when lifting the crossbeam. This combination is designed to ensure the machine never drops the ball during heavy-duty tasks.

Product Features
Steady Z-axis cutting:
It uses a fully enclosed 420×420mm box ram with a separate gearbox. Crucially, the spindle and gearbox have an independent air-conditioned oil cooling system, preventing heat from transferring to the ram. This eliminates Z-axis drift caused by thermal expansion during long machining sessions.
Strong W-axis eccentric load resistance:
Dual 8020 ball screws with high-ratio planetary gear reducers are mounted on the outer sides of the columns. Combined with high-torque, high-inertia servos, they firmly hold the crossbeam's weight during lifting, providing excellent dynamic response.
Right-angle Y-axis layout:
The crossbeam uses two precision linear roller guideways arranged at a 90-degree angle (one on the vertical face, one on the top face). This layout effectively cancels out force-induced deformation.
Hassle-free chip removal:
Spiral chip conveyors are located on both sides of the bed, moving chips directly to the rear chain conveyor, so operators don't have to manually dig out metal shavings.
Product Advantages
The biggest strength of this machine lies in its combination of a "moving beam, moving column, and fixed table." Because the worktable is fixed, you can directly lift 30-ton blanks onto it without worrying about table deformation. The X-axis (column movement) and W-axis (crossbeam movement) adopt extremely rigid structures, meaning it ensures high metal removal rates while maintaining excellent overall rigidity during long-span milling. This is why this moving column gantry machining center handles heavy cuts so reliably. Additionally, its Z-axis uses hardened ways with PTFE (Teflon) coating paired with a fully enclosed box ram, giving this moving column gantry machining center outstanding anti-vibration performance during deep cavity machining and high-force cutting. In heavy machinery workshops, it is the primary workhorse for chewing through tough materials, which is exactly why many military and heavy-industry enterprises choose this moving column gantry machining center as their go-to for large parts.

Product Application
Widely used in general machinery, construction machinery, automotive molds, power & energy, rail transit, and shipbuilding. Primarily targeting large cast iron and steel parts for face, curved surface, and hole machining. In a single setup, it can complete milling, boring, drilling, rigid tapping, reaming, and counterboring operations. Complex multi-process machining can also be achieved by selecting optional attachment heads.
Customization Options
- Spindle & Attachment Heads: Optional fully automatic right-angle heads, universal heads, and extension heads (with head magazines); optional 7MPa spindle center coolant.
- Tool Magazine: Optional 340T vertical/horizontal tool magazine.
- Measurement & Feedback: Optional 4-axis linear scales, Renishaw laser tool setter with probe.
- System Extensions: Optional 22-inch color touchscreen with Russian interface and wireless handwheel.
- Foundation Type: Standard floor-mounted or sunk-in foundation options available (buyer provides protective covers for the sunk-in type).

FAQ
Q: The machine is huge. How do we lift it into the workshop?
A: The heaviest part to lift is around 30 tons. We will provide foundation drawings and rigging requirements (e.g., single steel wire rope rated for 30+ tons). As long as you follow the drawings and prepare the lifting equipment, it will be smooth.
Q: Are there environmental requirements for the workshop?
A: The standard requirement is 17°C to 25°C with a 24-hour temperature fluctuation within ±2°C, and humidity between 40% and 75%. If your parts don't demand high precision, the range can be relaxed to 10°C to 40°C.
Q: What happens if there's a problem during the warranty period?
A: The warranty lasts 12 months. If damage occurs under normal use due to design or manufacturing defects, we cover it. If you can't solve the issue, we send a service engineer free of charge. If the problem is caused by improper operation or unauthorized disassembly, you'll cover the repair costs, but we still offer discounted parts and online support.
Installation & Training
After delivery, you are responsible for the foundation, unloading, lifting, and positioning, as well as preparing the power and air supply (recommended to use a voltage stabilizer and clean, dry compressed air). We handle free on-site installation, commissioning, and acceptance. We also provide operator training and maintenance guidance at your factory; our travel and accommodation costs are on us, and you just provide a free working lunch. If the machine cannot be installed due to your site reasons within 90 days, it will be deemed accepted automatically. If there is a dispute regarding accuracy acceptance, a nationally certified inspection agency can re-test it, and the losing party covers the costs.
