5 Axis Horizontal Boring Mill

Large workpieces often need more than a powerful spindle. They also need long travel, stable support, flexible positioning, and enough room to reach different machining areas without constant setup changes. This 5 axis horizontal boring mill is designed around those needs. It combines horizontal boring and milling capabilities with a large working envelope, 360° table rotation, and a rigid floor-type structure, making it suitable for heavy and oversized components.

The JFB series includes JFB130B, JFB160B, JFB130BZ, and JFB160BZ models. Spindle diameters are available in 130 mm and 160 mm, with spindle speeds from 10 to 2,000 rpm. Depending on the model, the worktable supports up to 30,000 kg, while X-axis travel can reach 20 m. This makes the machine a practical choice for heavy equipment, energy machinery, mining machinery, shipbuilding components, large molds, and other large-part machining applications where conventional CNC machining centers may not provide enough working space.

Product Features

Horizontal Spindle for Deep and Large-Part Machining

The horizontal spindle layout is well suited to boring large holes and machining deep or internal areas of heavy components. The 130 mm and 160 mm spindle options provide different levels of cutting capacity, while the ISO 50 spindle taper allows the machine to work with a wide range of industrial cutting tools.

Spindle speed reaches 2,000 rpm, and main motor power is available up to 31 kW. Depending on the configuration, maximum spindle torque reaches 3,650 Nm, providing enough cutting force for demanding boring and milling operations.

02/

Long Axis Travel

Large components require more than a large table. They also need sufficient axis travel to cover the entire workpiece. The JFB series offers X-axis travel from 6 to 20 m, with Y-axis travel up to 3 m. Z-axis travel reaches 2.5 or 3 m depending on the model.

The boring spindle can extend 800 mm through the W-axis, while the V-axis provides 2 or 3 m of table movement. Together, these movements give the operator greater flexibility when machining different sections of a large component.

03/

Rigid Construction for Heavy Cutting

The machine uses a heavy-duty structural design to provide stable support during boring and milling. The main structural components are manufactured from industrial-grade cast and steel materials selected for rigidity, strength, and long-term use. Precision-machined guide surfaces and properly supported moving components help reduce vibration during heavy cutting.

The boring bar size is 400 × 450 mm, with a 500 mm boring bar length according to the listed configuration. Exact material grades and structural specifications can be confirmed based on the final machine configuration.

04/

360° Rotary Table

The B-axis worktable can rotate through 360°, giving operators more freedom when positioning large workpieces. This can reduce repeated clamping and make multi-side machining more convenient, especially when several surfaces or machining positions need to be reached.

CNC Control and Tool Options

The machine can be equipped with SIEMENS 828D or FANUC 0i CNC systems. These are familiar control platforms for many machining workshops and can be configured according to the customer's production environment.

Tool capacity is available at 40 pieces as standard, with options for 60, 80, or 100 tools. Vertical, universal, extended, flat-head, and other customized milling heads are also available.

Why Choose This 5 Axis Horizontal Boring Mill?

Designed for large components:

With X-axis travel up to 20 m and table loads up to 30 tons on selected models, the JFB series can handle workpieces that are beyond the practical range of standard machining centers.

Good access to large workpieces:

The horizontal spindle, long axis travel, boring-bar extension, and 360° table rotation provide multiple ways to reach difficult machining positions.

Strong boring performance:

Large spindle diameters, ISO 50 tooling, and high spindle torque make the machine suitable for large holes, internal surfaces, and heavy milling operations.

Fewer setup changes:

The rotary table and coordinated axis movements can reduce the need to repeatedly remove and reposition a heavy workpiece.

Flexible machine configuration:

Customers can choose different spindle sizes, milling heads, CNC systems, tool capacities, and rotary-table configurations according to the actual application.

Suitable for demanding industries:

Typical applications include construction machinery, energy equipment, mining machinery, shipbuilding, heavy machine frames, and other large metal components.
