5 Axis Gantry Machine

The 5 axis gantry machine adopts a bridge-type structure with a box-in-box crossbeam. The Y-axis crossbeam is designed symmetrically around the spindle center, helping reduce the effect of workshop temperature changes on spindle-center displacement.

For the X axis, two precision roller linear guideways are arranged on each side of the machine bed. The integrated X-axis structure is intended to provide stable support during longitudinal movement.

1. Mepro A/C 5-Axis Rotary Head

The 5 axis gantry machine is fitted with a Mepro AC rotary head. The A axis has a rotation range of ±105°, while the C axis rotates through ±360°. The maximum A/C speeds are 60/60 rpm.

The torque motor configuration provides maximum torque of 1060 Nm on the A axis and 1350 Nm on the C axis. Rated torque is 700 Nm and 715 Nm respectively. The braking torque is specified as 4000 Nm for both axes.

The X axis uses Alpha rack-and-pinion transmission, with a rapid traverse speed of 30 m/min.

4. Y-Axis Box-in-Box Structure

The Y-axis crossbeam uses a symmetrical box-in-box structure. The spindle center is positioned around the center of the crossbeam and ram, which helps limit spindle-center displacement caused by changes in ambient temperature.

Four 55-size heavy-duty roller linear guideways are arranged on the box-type crossbeam to support the ram. The Y-axis travel is 3000 mm, with a rapid traverse speed of 30 m/min.

5. Z-Axis Support

The Z axis uses four roller linear guideways and high-rigidity guide blocks to support the spindle head. A nitrogen-to-hydraulic counterbalance cylinder is used to assist the vertical movement.

The Z-axis travel is 1250 mm, with a rapid traverse speed of 20 m/min. The Z axis uses a 6340 ball screw.
